We EGG'd the leadership!

Hello Everyone!

I hope you had a great Easter! We did here in Lake Mary.

This week was great, as always. A little slow. Definalty keep us in your prayers to find people who are prepared. We are looking out for them. This week a rude guy (a southern religion i wont name but are known to be rude down here) told me and Sister Christensen we were going to hell this week. That was so hard. And just in case you are wondering, I did cry, not in front of him. It was more of tears of frustration. Its hard when people attack you and dont care to hear and are rude. We live in a world that is so hostile. Its hard to talk to everyone you see when you get reactions like that!!

BUT the work goes on! Brandon was confirmed yesterday, AWESOME. He is doing wonderfully. We are taking Ashley on a temple tour on the 18th. I am going BACK to college park (singles ward) for exchanges this week. ugh!

About the Subject line...on Saturday we cut out eggs and went around and put them on people's door in the ward. Kind of like heart attacking. it was so fun. Sister Gove caught us and we screamed, she screamed. hahah. But it was  success. I got the idea from Boo'ing in Mays Pond. (:

Well I hope you are all doing well. Keep being awesome!! I am loving the support!! You all ROCK!

love always. Sister Ploth.

P.S. CONGRATS TO KAILEY AND JEFF FRAIZER!!  Tucker Kai Frazier is so adorable! Thanks Mal for the pictures! If people want, you can send me pictures at this address: aisha.ploth@myldsmail.net.

General Conference Weekend and Easter Coming up.

Hello All!

I hope you recvieve the much needed personal revelation from this past weekend's General Conference, I know I did! If you havent checked it out or if you want to still.... http://www.lds.org/general-conference/sessions/2012/04?lang=eng
Brandon LOVED Priesthood. What a great guy!!!

I am excited to print out the Priesthood Session. I heard President Uchtdorf was LEGIT with straight up Doctrine! One thing I learned this weekend is that Christ's Doctrine isn't an opinion. We all have a personal relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ BUT we all have to abide by the same laws and way of life in order to receive exhaltation. Again, GC blew my mind. Superbowl for Missionaries. It added to my testimony that God IS the same and He sent us a modern day propeht to understand His will. We can all recive personal revelation but as a world we need to know the will of God. Moses, Noah, Daniel, Abraham. What great men! God loves me and you so much He sent us His chosen. I also gained a testimony of the hymns. I never thought I would love church music as I do now. Also, Hilary Weeks (a LDS artist) has an amazing CD out, its all her "hits". Living Proof is my favorite. It helps me know that I am a Daughter of God. He knows me and loves me.

Now with Easter coming up, I have been thinking all morning what I can send to you all. Well its easy My Testimony of a Living Christ.
I know the Jesus Christ is my personal Savior. He knows me and loves (like all of you). His INFINITE Atonement was so that the bands of death could be loosed. We aren't accountable for Adam's transgressions but for our own sins. But how could we overcome them? Simple... Gospel of Jesus Christ which includes: Faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End. With these things combined we will stand at the judgement bar and Christ WILL plead for us. I know of my HEAVENLY Father's love because I know of my EARTHLY Father's love. My earthly father (in my case, both) pretty much think I am a big deal so imagine what my Heavenly Father thinks of me. Jesus Christ lives. He suffered, died, and He showed Himself unto the people of Jerusalem AND the American Continent (record of the BOM). And because He loves us TODAY He appeared to a humble boy, Joseph Smith and restore His Church. I am grateful for the Gospel but Specifically I am grateful for the Savior. He risked it all  and He knew what had to be done. He was immortal but when through the pain so I dont have to suffer. I hope you all feel of my love for Him. And I hope you all remember the reason we celebrate Easter.

10 And behold, he shall be aborn of Mary, at bJerusalem which is the cland of our forefathers, she being a dvirgin, a precious and chosen vessel, who shall be overshadowed and econceive by the power of the Holy Ghost, and bring forth a son, yea, even the Son of God.

11 And he shall go forth, suffering pains and aafflictions and btemptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will ctake upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.

12 And he will take upon him adeath, that he may bloose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to csuccor his people according to their infirmities.

13 Now the Spirit aknoweth all things; nevertheless the Son of God suffereth according to the bflesh that he might ctake upon him the sins of his people, that he might blot out their transgressions according to the power of his deliverance; and now behold, this is the testimony which is in me.

14 Now I say unto you that ye must arepent, and be born again; for the Spirit saith if ye are not born again ye cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven; therefore come and be baptized unto repentance, that ye may be washed from your sins, that ye may have faith on the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world, who is mighty to save and to cleanse from all unrighteousness.

15 Yea, I say unto you come and fear not, and lay aside every sin, which easily doth abeset you, which doth bind you down to destruction, yea, come and go forth, and show unto your God that ye are willing to repent of your sins and enter into a covenant with him to keep his commandments, and witness it unto him this day by going into the waters of baptism.

16 And whosoever doeth this, and keepeth the commandments of God from thenceforth, the same will aremember that I say unto him, yea, he will remember that I have said unto him, he shall have eternal life, according to the testimony of the Holy Spirit, which testifieth in me.

17 And now my beloved brethren, do you believe these things? Behold, I say unto you, yea, I know that ye believe them; and the way that I know that ye believe them is by the manifestation of the Spirit which is in me. And now because your faith is strong concerning that, yea, concerning the things which I have spoken, great is my joy.

Moses 4:
But, behold, my Beloved aSon, which was my Beloved and bChosen from the beginning, said unto me—cFather, thy dwill be done, and the eglory be thine forever.

all my love,
Sister Aisha Ploth.

Week 1 DONE. (Transfer 5)

HELLO EVERYBODY!

The work is great in Lake Mary! Brandon was baptized yesterday! It only took 5 times, but who is counting. Funniest baptism I have ever seen.Wes baptized him (my first baptism) so he was nervous.  I was laughing so hard my kidneys were hurting ! Sister Christensen was praying so hard. What confused me was Mom was 9 months pregnant with Kai when she was baptized, and from what I can remember it was pretty smooth.  Afterwards Brandon bore the sweetest testimony.  Brandon was prepared. He was an "easy baptism" because he was prepared. He took everything so well. He confidently proclaimed that he knows there is a Prophet and the Church is true. It was amazing. While bearing his testimony he shared how hard it was for him while we met with him because he wasnt sure. The weird thing is, he never shared that with us! He was always smiling! Always asking questions! The Spirit was ALWAYS there. He is a great example. I am excited to see him grow in the Gospel. His girlfriend, Ashley, came to church with us. She is great! I adore her. She also went to the Relief Society Birthday on Thursday. She has sat in on a few lessons, so we will see what happens.

On Friday we got to do a Homeless Connect Project in Orlando. We helped Homeless people get help with free medical care and other things like getting IDS and showers and food. Some of the people were so nice others, not so nice. IT WAS FREE! It was very humbling. Made me more grateful for what I have. It was cool to do. The weird thing though was we didnt stay with out companions. I was by myself! First time in 6 months walking by myself or even just with Elders! I made sure I could always see a missionary.

Well Conference is coming up! I hope you all enjoy it! Listen and learn! How privileged are we to have a modern day Prophet to tell us the will of God!!

I love you all!! Have a great week!

love,
Sister Ploth.

Transfer 5....Where am I going???

Hello Everyone! Well the verdict is in...I AM STAYING IN LAKE MARY!

I am going to start off with a joke....ready?
Whats black and white and green and black and white?.... TWO ZEBRAS FIGHTING OVER A PICKLE!! hahaha. A little girl in our ward told us that last night and I thought it was funniest thing I have ever heard! okay lets get serious

Things are going great! We are finding a lot of people. Now its just getting them to keep their appointments. So many cancel or they want to meet late at night. This next week our nights are BOOKED! Brandon, David, and Mike came to church this Sunday! Brandon is on track for his baptism this weekend, March 25th (HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY LITTLE BROTHER DREWP!!!) He is really excited. We took him to Longwood's baptism on Saturday and he loved it. I am so excited for him. On Sunday he walked out of Elders Quorum with a bunch of guys saying, "Who's going to baptism me???" haha. Wes Copeland (Recent Convert) will be the one. We are working on getting it to be special. We have listened to Brandon with who he likes and have talked to our Ward Council. It has been a great experience. My goal is to never talk at a baptism while on a mission, its not my job, its the Ward's.
Mike is doing awesome! We just got a text that he is listening to the BOM because he isnt a big reader. He is so cool. Yesterday he asked about fasting because he feels like he should fast. How cool!!

Sister Cruz and Jordan came to church!! Seeing them walk in was great! They loved it. Jordan is really growing and learning, we just need to keep that fire burning. Now we talk to him about missions. He seems to be interested.

I am excited for this transfer. I need to learn something since I am still here!

love, Sister Ploth.

P.S. I am not sure if I already wrote back Ashley Balmforth or Tara Denkers, so...let me know?? (:

Week 6!

Hello Everyone! Its week 6 of transfer 4!

So next week I find out if I am going or staying. Bishop Chevrier thinks I am leaving, I think I am staying because I love Lake Mary. I am so glad to be here. . Everyday is a new adventure. We are teaching Brandon and Michael pretty consistently. Brandon is harder to get a hold of because he doesn't have a phone but we leave notes on his door and go over and say hello. He is doing awesome. He couldn't come to church on Sunday but we were able to go teach him with the Tremels last night. Ashley (his girlfriend) was there. She is wonderful! I love her. We invited her to the Relief Society Birthday Party. She seemed interested. We also told them about a temple tour, we have one planned by Brother Eng on March 24th.
Michael is LEGIT. We didn't even think of him as a top investigator. He came to church, he is reading, he is participating in the classes. Elders Quorum love him! He is going to their activities. So awesome. We are teaching him tonight at the Elders Quorum President's house. He has exchanged numbers with some of the guys. I am really excited. He is a way cool guy.
The Cruz Family was so close to coming to church this week. Jordan didn't have clothes. I keep praying it will happen.

Members are finding! We are role playing! Now we need to have them the confidence to act. Sister Christensen made a good point. We are praying for the members to find people who are prepared and they are. Now we need to pray that the people they find will want to listen and the members will have the confidence to act. Our Ward Missionary Leader (Brother Eng) has a lot of great ideas! He is so helpful. We are blessed to have the leadership we have here in the Lake Mary Ward.

This week was leadership trainging so Sister Christensen went to it with Sister Durr and Sister Kaaa. Sister Durr and Sister Lima spent the night on Tuesday. Wednesday I went to college park with Sister Lima and Sister Poulsen and Thursday we came here to Lake Mary. Being with Sister Poulsen and Sister Lima was good. They are wonderful missionaries! So loving! Sister Lima is friendly and loves everyone. She wants everyone to have the gospel. Sister Poulsen is sweet and cares about everyone. She wants to not only serve non members, members, but missionaries. I have never had another missionary ask me "What can I do to help you?" In everything! It was great. I also loved getting to know them and serving them while they were in Lake Mary (like making dinner and making sure they were comfortable). There are amazing Sisters here in Orlando and I am excited to meet the rest of them! We are having Sisters Gathering this week, so all 18 of us Sister Missionaries get to come together.

Funny story of the week:
We were biking home one night and these 2 young black guys start yelling at us "Hey crackers! Get out of our neighborhood!" It took everything I had not to laugh myself off my bike. The member we were with (she is working on her papers) was so scared. Sister Christensen and I were like "whatever!' because we were in a safe neighborhood, it was late, and there were lights EVERYWHERE. We dont bike in unsafe places. Plus we were so far from those punks. So funny!!

Well everything is going well here! I love you all! Thank you for everything!!

love always,
Sister Ploth.

The Fruits of Our Labor!

HELLO LOVED ONES!! It is a beautiful, sunny day here in Orlando, Florida! We are so blessed!!

Yesterday, Sunday, was AMAZING! Wow. So many miracles! First off, we were running late. It was weird because we weren't slow, we weren't doing anything out of the ordinary. So we were trying to get to church and I tell Sister Christensen, "Brandon IS at church today." We pulled into the parking a lot and he was there! We squealed! We were able to sit in front of him and Sister Christensen explained to him what was going on. With it being Fast and Testimony meeting sometimes i am kind of nervous to what would be said but this Testimony Meeting was the BEST! Short and powerful testimonies. FILLED with Gospel Truths. No stories or long drawn out testimonies. The Spirit was so strong, I felt it from the top of my head to the bottom of my toes! David walked in just as it started! 2 out of 3 isnt bad. Gospel Principles was great. Brandon shared that he wanted to bear his testimony. David expressed his love for the Book of Mormon. Well 10 minutes didn't even pass and in walks Michael and Kari (his girlfriend). They brought all their kids and had put them in primary. 4 investigators at church! WOW! They all LOVED it. Kari said she really liked Relief Society. Micheal's kids loved primary. Brandon is friends with the 1st counselor of the Elders Quorum Presidency.  So Brother Tremel totally took over with Brandon and bore his testimony to him. It was all so amazing. David kept asking "What do I do now?" He has a baptismal date for April 1st, so we kept telling him just to keep learning and reading the BOM and coming to church. Overall Sunday was the BEST!

I am learning a lot about patience and how I can approve. This week we had a few funerals in the Stake and they were close to the members in our ward. Studying the Plan of Salvation this week made it so REAL. To know Heavenly Father loves us so much He made a PERFECT PLAN so we can return to Him. It is perfect and as we STRIVE we can obtain celestial glory. I love the word "strive". I have read it a lot lately. We aren't asked to be perfect, we are asked to STRIVE. (I LOVE this video on the Plan of Salvation: http://www.lds.org/pages/the-plan-of-salvation-d-and-c-video?lang=eng&query=plan+salvation)

The Weather is great here. On Thursday I got sunburned. I was pink. I have a nice white shoulder and brown arms now. Weird.

I am loving the work. It is great. Some days I have "bad days" and I don't understand but days like Sunday makes up for the days. Thank you all for your prayers and letters. I am way behind, but don't worry, I WILL catch up!!

love,
Sister Ploth

Story of The Five Dollar Lawn

Story of The Five Dollar Lawn as told by Bishop Vaughn J.

Featherstone in General Conference, excerpted from "The Gospel of Jesus

Christ Is The Golden Door" (October 1973):

I am indebted to a good friend of mine, Aldin Porter, for a story and I
would like to share it with you.  He shared it with me about two years ago.

"No one in our Utah town knew where the Countess had come from;  her
carefully precise English indicated that she was not a native American.  From
the size of her house and staff we knew that she must be wealthy, but she
never entertained and she made it clear that when she was at home she was
completely inaccessible.  Only when she stepped outdoors did she become at
all a public figure--and then chiefly to the small fry of the town, who lived in
awe of her.

"The countess always carried a cane not only for support, but as a
means of chastising any youngster she thought needed disciplining.  And at
one time or another most of the kids in our neighborhood seemed to display
that need.
By running fast and staying alert, I had managed to keep out of

her reach.  But one day when I was about thirteen, as I was short-cutting
through her hedge, she got close enough to rap my head with her stick.

"'Ouch!'  I yelled, jumping a couple of feet.

"'Young man, I want to talk to you,' she said.  I was expecting a
lecture on the evils of trespassing, but as she looked at me, half smiling,
she seemed to change her mind.

"'Don't you live in that green house with the willow trees in the next
block?'

      "'Yes, ma'am.' . . .

"'Good. I've lost my gardener. Be at my house Thursday morning at
seven, and don't tell me you have something else to do; I've seen you
slouching around on Thursdays.'

"When the Countess gave an order, it was carried out.  I didn't dare not
come on that next Thursday.
I went over the whole lawn three times with a

mower before she was satisfied and then she had me down on all fours looking
for weeds until my knees were as green as the grass.  She finally called me
up to the porch.

"'Well, young man, how much do you want for your day's work?'

"'I don't know.  Fifty cents, maybe.'

"'Is that what you figure you're worth?"

      "'Yes'm. About that.'

"'Very well.  Here's the fifty cents you say you're worth and here's the
dollar and a half more that I've earned for you by pushing you.  Now I'm
going to tell you something about how you and I are going to work together.
There are as many ways of mowing a lawn as there are people, and they may be
worth anywhere from a penny to five dollars.  Let's say that a three-dollar
job would be just what you have done today, except that you'd have to be
something of a fool to spend that much time on a lawn.  A five-dollar lawn is
well, it's impossible, so we'll forget about that.  Now then, each week I'm
going to pay you according to your own evaluation of your work.'

"I left with my two dollars, richer than I remembered being in my whole
life, and determined that I would get four dollars out of her the next week.
But I failed to reach even the three dollar mark.  My will began to falter
the second time around her yard.

"'Two dollars again, eh?  That kind of job puts you right on the edge of
being dismissed, young man.'

"'Yes'm. But I'll do better next week.'

"And somehow I did.  The last time around the lawn I was exhausted, but
I found I could spur myself on.  In the exhilaration of that new feeling, I
had no hesitation in asking the Countess for three dollars.

"Each Thursday for the next four or five weeks, I varied between a
three-and a three-and-a-half dollar job.  The more I became more acquainted
with her lawn, places where the ground was a little high or a little low,
places where it needed to be clipped short or left long on the edges to make
a more satisfying curve along the garden, the more I became aware of just
what a four-dollar lawn would consist of.  And each week I would resolve to
do just that kind of a job.  But by the time I had made my three dollar or
three and-a-half dollar mark I was too tired to remember even having had the
ambition to go beyond that.

"'You look like a good consistent $3.50 man,'  she would say as she
handed me the money.

"'I guess so'  I would say, too happy at the sight of the money to
remember that I had shot for something higher.

"'Well don't feel too bad,'  she would comfort me.  'After all, there are
only a handful of people in the world who could do a four-dollar job.'

"And her words were a comfort at first, but then, without my noticing
what was happening, her comfort became an irritant that made me resolve to
do that four-dollar job, even if it killed me.  In the fever of my resolve, I
could see myself expiring on her lawn, with the Countess leaning over me,
handing me the four dollars with a tear in her eye, begging my forgiveness
for having thought I couldn't do it.

"It was in the middle of such a fever, one Thursday night when I was
trying to forget the day's defeat and get some sleep, that the truth hit me
so hard that I sat upright, half choking in my excitement.  It was the
five-dollar job I had to do, not the four-dollar one!  I had to do the job
that no one could do because it was impossible.

"I was well acquainted with the difficulties ahead.  I had the problem,
for example, of doing something about the worm mounds in the lawn.  The
Countess might not even have noticed them yet, they were so small; but in my
bare feet I knew about them and I had to do something about them.  And I
could go on trimming the garden edges with shears, but I knew that a
five-dollar lawn demanded that I line up each edge exactly with a yard stick
and then trim it precisely with the edger.  And there were other problems
that only I and my bare feet knew about.

"I started the next Thursday by ironing out the worm mounds with a
heavy roller.  After two hours of that I was ready to give up for the day.
Nine o'clock in the morning, and my will was already gone!  It was only by
accident that I discovered how to regain it.  Sitting under a walnut tree for
a few minutes after finishing the rolling, I fell asleep.  When I woke up
minutes later, the lawn looked so good and felt so good under my feet, I was
anxious to get on with the job.

"I followed this secret for the rest of the day, dozing for a few
minutes every hour to regain my perspective and replenish my strength.
Between naps, I mowed four times, two times lengthwise, two times across,
until the lawn looked like a green velvet checkerboard.  Then I dug around
every tree, crumbling the big clods and smoothing the soil with my hands,
then finished with the edger, meticulously lining up each stroke so that the
effect would be perfectly symmetrical.  And I carefully trimmed the grass
between the flagstones of the front walk.  The shears wore my fingers raw,
but the walk never looked better.

"Finally about eight o'clock that evening it was all completed.  I was
so proud I didn't even feel tired when I went up to her door.

"'Well, what is it today?'  she asked.

"'Five dollars,'  I said, trying for a little calm and sophistication.

"'Five dollars?  You mean four dollars, don't you?  I told you that a
five-dollar lawn job isn't possible.'

"'Yes it is.  I just did it.'

"'Well, young man, the first five-dollar lawn in history certainly
deserves some looking around.'

"We walked about the lawn together in the light of evening, and even I
was quite overcome by the impossibility of what I had done.

"'Young man, she said, putting her hand on my shoulder, 'what on earth
made you do such a crazy, wonderful thing?'

"I didn't know why, but even if I had, I could not have explained it in
the excitement of hearing that I had done it.

"'I think I know,'  she continued,  'how you felt when this idea first
came to you of caring for a lawn that I told you was impossible.  It made you
very happy when it first came, then a little frightened.  Am I right?'

"She could see she was right by the startled look on my face.

"'I know how you felt, because the same thing happens to almost
everyone.  They feel this sudden burst in them of wanting to do some great
thing.  They feel a wonderful happiness but then it passes because they have
said,  "No, I can't do that.  It's impossible."  Whenever something in you
says,  "It's impossible,"  remember to take a careful look and see if it isn't
really God asking you to grow an inch, or a foot, or a mile, that you may
come to a fuller life.'

"Since that time, some 25 years ago, when I have felt myself at an end
with nothing before me, suddenly, with the appearance of that word,
'impossible,'  I have experienced the unexpected lift, the leap inside me,
and known that the only possible way lay through the very middle of
impossible."

(Richard Thurman, "The Countess and the Impossible," Reader's Digest, June 1958.)
