Grettings from Port Orange, Florida

Hello Everyone!

Grettings from Port Orange, Florida!!

I have always wanted to open an area but let me tell you all something! Its the hardest thing to do and on top of that I have been SICK! yes, the past three days my throat has been killer and I have felt like death. Sister Cuthbert snuck in some honey into my drink to help me. EW! But I didnt taste it.

We dont have a big teaching pool. Our one and only invesitgator is, Amy. She is guess what...DATING A MEMBER. hahah. He lives in Orlando and she wants to learn more. Crazy story. She was looking up a relator and came across Brother Hellum's name and then googled "mormons in Port Orange" and found Brother Hellum's profile and so she called him up. We taught her on Wednesday. She is a thinker and isnt looking to join any church, she just wants to know whats up. As she was reading Moroni's promise in the Book of Mormon she defianlty felt the Spirit. She came to church on Sunday and poor girl, it was ward conference. Possibly the most boring service in church history.

The Ward has been so great! The Taylor family has done so much for us! So has Sister Warner. They have made this transtion great. The Ward is excited to have Sisters. They havent had sisters in over a girl. Elder Rumsey actually was a part of white washing from Sisters to Elders so I got to talk to him this past week. That was pretty sweet!

This week we have Zone conference and great plans to find people to teach. I think my main purpose here is to prepare Sister Cuthbert to train. But she doesnt need much help! She is so loving and outgoing. She shared with me that when she was younger she would get teased a lot so as she got older her mom told her, to make sure noone ever feels like she did when she was younger. And boy she overgoes it. She makes EVERYONE feel special. She was suppose to go to Fiji on her mission but she got sick and they sent her home from the MTC. She bugged them until they sent her back out so i know she understands why she is here!

It still feels so surreal to know this is my last transfers but all the Elders make sure to keep me in check. I am always getting, "Dont get trunky Sister Ploth!" haha. they are great!

I hope yall have a great week and have a great missionary expereince!!

love,
Sister Ploth

Last Transfer and I am...

LEAVING DAYTONA!!

I am so sad! I am just going to the ward over, to open a new sister area with Sister Cuthbert. She is a new missionary. I am excited and nervous. I didnt think I would be leaving but here I am. Rats. Oh well. The Lord does what the Lord wants.

This week was great! Denie was baptized! It was an amazing baptism. It was so spiritual and just what she needed. Brother Barrett even grabbed her right after to assign her for a talk! hahaha. She will be speaking next week!

For the picture: I am wearing a wrist brace. This past week I was brushing my teeth and when i went to out down my hands I jammed it really hard on the counter. I screamed. Its not bruised. It kind of hurts but not too bad.

Well I have to go back! So I hope yall have a great and lets finish up this transfer strong!!

love ya!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Hello All!!

I hope you all had a great week! We did! Now we are starting Week 6 of this transfer. Next transfer will be my last transfer and it will only be 5 weeks instead of 6 weeks. In case some people are lost on to why that is. Back on October in General Conference, where we are able to listen to modern day Prophets and Apostles, they made an announcement that the age requirement for missionaries would be lowered. Elders could go out at 18 instead of 19 and Sisters could go out at 19 instead of 21. What an amazing change! The work is hastening in the mission field. Because of this there are more missionaries coming into the field, more sisters than ever. So they had to make it so time in the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah would be less. Instead of 3 weeks missionaries are there for 2 weeks so transfers in the field have to be caught down JUST ONE TIME, so that means everyone from starting at my group in the FLorida Orlando Mission will be home one week early.

SO! I will be coming home March 27th. But don't worry, I have all the time in the world. (: We still have lots of people to contact and help be healed from their sins through Jesus Christ. Its been a great experience so far and I am not slowing down. So keep us in your prayers!!

This weekend we took Jan to the temple (see attached picture). It was great! She felt the spirit and gets to go back in a few weeks to do baptisms for the dead! (For those of those who don't know that that is here in excellent time to check out mormon.org FAQ (http://mormon.org/faq/topic/baptism/question/baptism-for-the-dead).

This week we are preparing for Denie's baptism. WOW! She is great and is doing awesome. I love her a lot. It will be on Saturday at 7:30 if anyone wants to attend (;

ZTM was awesome this week! We learned about our purpose and how to be obedient to our purpose. That was great! We have so much to improve on but with the Lord we can accomplish it all.

oh and of course HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

John 13: 34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye  love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

So go out and show your love for those around you!

love always, Sister Ploth

We just saw Manatees!

Hello everyone! This email is late and it might be short but we just got back from Blue Springs where we saw cute Manatees! There was even a new baby that was born on Friday.

This week was wonderful! Jan got baptized (see attached picture). It was sweet. She was so excited and nervous. On Friday we met with her and she asked what could she do to prepare herself for Saturday we suggested reading 3 Nephi 11-28 (Where Christ came to the American continents and taught the people) she thought that was a perfect idea! She was so excited she read pretty much the whole Book of Mormon! She is really good at switching back from the Bible and the BOM and seeing how they connect. She is amazing. On Saturday we are taking her on a temple tour. We are waiting fro "Jesus the Christ" by Elder Talamage to come in. We bought her it and we know she will just love it.
At her baptism Sister Michelle Roberts (the one in the picture) gave the talk on Baptism and the Gift of the Holy Ghost and one thing she said that I loved was, "Baptism is an irrevocable commandment" I love the word "irrevocable" For those who don't know the definition it is, "not able to be changed, reversed, or recovered; final:" So we need to be baptized by the authority of Jesus Christ in order to return to our Heavenly Father. She referenced John 3:5 "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." What a simple way. We are born into families and we gain a physical body and we then are baptized and get a spiritual body. super cool! Sister Roberts whole talk was so spiritual and I defiantly felt the Spirit. We know the Spirit is there when we are taught something. The Holy Ghost is the true teacher, we just need to get out of the way!

We alsot taught Matha (the wife of the family we taught) and she accepted a baptism date for March 2nd. We are really excited. This week we will be preparing for Denie's baptism.

I got to talk to Sister Kerns this week! She called with a question. She is doing amazing! She is rocking it. And later I got to call Sister Staley. On Friday we were biking home for dinner and this guy stopped us to give us a referral for the College Park Area! He had just returned from his mission. He was way cool. When we asked him how being home is he said, "There is nothing to look forward to." hahaha. I think missionaries miss the structure and we have a purpose out here. We know exactly what we need to do and how to do it. Luckily I am not stressing about it all. At least not too much. (:

Our mail fast went well. I got so many letters this week! It was cool, and even from people I didn't expect. So I will write back soon! Promise! It really was hard but rewarding.

I hope yall have a great week! Love you! LOOK FOR THE MIRACLES AND TENDER MERCIES OF THE LORD!

love always,
Sister Ploth.
