"Do black people go to your church??"

Hello Everyone!

First off, check out the mission blog---- http://floridaorlandomission2010.blogspot.com/--- thats right! Sister Durr and I are on the front page! Sister Hall took that after a District Meeting a few weeks ago. Our Ward members were excited to tell us. (:

Second off, the subject line...hahaha favorite question I hear!! We teach a lot of black people, a lot.

WOW! This week there were MIRACLES! At district meeting Elder Jensen asked us about our miracles and I thought "What does he mean by miracle? I haven't fallen off my bike yet and I still haven't gained weight. Those are miracles to me" Well the Lord showed us miracles this week. Starting that day! We met the Riley family, less active, part member. The boys were so excited to have us over and they were super reverent. The 12 yr old even told us the first lesson in his own words and out of order but still is was amazing! We, or the spirit, taught a man how to pray. It was so powerful! After he was done he had to ask us if he prayed because he couldn't remember. He is way cool. We are going to go back to teach his family. His wife was hesitant but on Sunday we stopped by and answered questions she had. She felt so much better and opened up about wanting to quit smoking and come to church. It was way cool. On Thursday EVERY LESSON went through. Oh man that was way cool. We didn't realize it until we sat down that night. We even had some awesome street contacts. I am working on being a testifying missionary. The pass along cards make a great visual! We met with Yancy, we aren't sure if he will be ready by next Sunday. He didn't come to church and he seems to not understand the importance of the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 19:2-7). Saturday we went on a Temple Tour with Carmen and Juan. They loved it. And when they came to church Juan warmed up in the last 2 hours. Carmen has a baptismal date of Feb 5th now. woot!  We are way excited.

A member told us about fairlds.org. It is a website done by doctors and scientists that defends the church! Check it out and let me know what you think!

We were so busy this week that we ate our lunches on our bikes! haha. So funny but it is awesome! I love being a missionary and doing that! It feels awesome to be working hard and not rememebring the days. I have finally caught up on my journal! Pray that I wont get behind.

We have kind of picked up Jerry Barnes again! Slowly but surely.

hmmm...that is it for the week! I heard that NY GIANTS are going to the Superbowl!! yay! Shout loud for me!!

Well I love you all!!!

have a great week!!

love always,
Sister ploth
